Captains Cards

Prudence & Bay Islands Transport is pleased to announce the use of Captains Cards. This is a rechargeable card that can be used to make reservations online, over the phone or in person, as well as purchasing ticket at the office. If you have an online account for reservations, the Captain’s Card can be attached and will be remembered so you do not have to input your card information every time. The Captain’s Card can be purchased at the Prudence Pier Office and recharged at either office or over the phone. They will make excellent gifts. No expiration dates.

Our ferry navigates the roughly 30 minute journey from Bristol, RI to Prudence Island, RI. Our dedicated staff and crew are comprised of many Prudence Island residents who know firsthand the needs of our customers. No matter if you are a full-time island resident, a summer renter or simply a day visitor we strive to make the journey over to Prudence Island as hassle free as possible. Please continue to check out our website to find all the up to date information on ferry news, schedules and for on-line reservations for passengers and vehicles.

Communication between island residents, Bristol and Portsmouth town officials, business owners, and any other interested party is welcome. On the last Saturday in June every year we will hold a public meeting at 9:00am at the PIA Hall. We encourage you to attend!

Captains and Crew

Dan Antaya

Dan Antaya graduated from Chariho High School in 2009. While there he completed the three-year Marine Technologies program. After high school he majored in Marine Affairs at the University of Rhode Island and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2013. His family ties to Prudence Island go back to the early 1900's. He has spent his summers and many weekends here for the last 24 years, commuting from Wickford to the west side of the Island in his quahog skiff.
Captain Ethan Rossi

Ethan Rossi

Ethan Rossi received his 100-ton Merchant Mariners license in 2010. He then worked for Clean the Bay and Bristol Marine running vessel of all sizes. Ethan grew up on Prudence Island and commuted to school by ferry and personal boat and thus knows the importance of a reliable ferry and has extensive experience in the waters of Narragansett Bay. He is looking forward to providing ferry service for his fellow islanders.  

Michael Mosher

Michael Mosher has been a seasonal Prudence Islander his entire life. In 2010, he graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with his 3rd Mate Unlimited Tonnage Merchant Mariners license. Michael now works out of New York, traveling for 3-4 weeks at a time towing oil barges on the East Coast.

Carmine

Carmen Inzitari

Carmine Inzitari has worked in the Maritime industry for the past twelve years. He spent the last seven as captain of the Prudence Ferry. He recently started a career working on tug boats but looks forward to continuing to serve the residents and guests of Prudence Island as a part-time captain for A&R Marine.

Eric R. McAdam

Life-long Bristolian, Eric McAdam has worked with PBIT for a year and a half. Starting as a Deckhand, Eric was promoted to Captain in Summer 2016 after extensive training and dedication to his work. Before coming to PBIT, Eric worked on Blount Small Ship Adventures as a Deckhand and Engineer, where he worked for 5 years.

Domenic Castigliego

Domenic Castigliego got his start in the marine industry working on his father’s fishing boat, the Keyday & Damon, whose namesake are his two great uncles. Domenic grew up in Bristol, RI where his family has resided for generations. Domenic started working for the Prudence Island Ferry as a deckhand and began training to become a captain. When PBIT began ferry service Domenic was hired as a captain.

Cody Thomas

Cody Thomas grew up in Bristol RI, until his senior year of high school, when he moved to Connecticut for school and graduated there. Before coming to PBIT, he predominantly worked in the food industry. Cody is a hard working member of the PBIT crew and is happy to be of assistance.
