Captains Cards

Prudence & Bay Islands Transport is pleased to announce the use of Captains Cards. This is a rechargeable card that can be used to make reservations online, over the phone or in person, as well as purchasing ticket at the office. If you have an online account for reservations, the Captain’s Card can be attached and will be remembered so you do not have to input your card information every time. The Captain’s Card can be purchased at the Prudence Pier Office and recharged at either office or over the phone. They will make excellent gifts. No expiration dates.

Terms and Conditions:
It is strongly recommended that you arrive at our ferry dock at least 30 minutes in advance of departure, please allow ample time for unanticipated traffic delays, parking, issuance of tickets and boarding the ferry.

30 MINUTE RULE:

All Vehicles over 22 feet in length or any vehicle towing a trailer must arrive and have boarding passes in hand at least 30 minutes prior to departure time or your reservation will be cancelled and you will be placed on standby.

15 Minute Rule:
STANDARD SIZE autos’ under 20 feet long and 7 feet wide must arrive and have E-ticket confirmation in hand at least 15 minutes prior to departure time or your reservation will be cancelled and you will be placed on standby.

Your E-ticket confirmation, along with a photo ID, must be presented upon arrival in order to board vessel.

Car and non-commercial truck cancellations and changes:

Reservations may be changed 2 full days in advance of departure with no fee. Reservations can be cancelled 2 full days in advance of departure for a full refund. Changes made less than 2 full days in advance will be charged a $5.00 administrative fee per auto, per direction. No refunds will be allowed on reservations less than 2 full days in advance.
Cancellations made within 2 full days of departure may be exchanged for reservations for an administrative fee of $5.00. Exchanged cancellations for reservations are not guaranteed until a transaction number is received by the customer. A maximum of three exchanged cancellations may be held at one time. No refunds will be allowed on reservations less than 2 full days in advance of departure.

Commercial Reservation cancellations and Changes:

Reservations may be changed 2 full days in advance of departure with no fee. Reservations can be cancelled 2 full days in advance of departure for a full refund.
Cancellations or changes made the day before departure will be assessed a fee of 50% of the vehicle rate for each cancellation. No refunds will be made for cancellations or changes made the same day of departure.

Non Standard Vehicle Charges:

Vehicles that require more than 1 car space (such as limousines or long transit trucks less than 1 ton) will be charged an increased rate to compensate for the additional deck space required for the vehicle as opposed to a standard car or SUV.
A standard car is no more than 18 ft. long. Vehicles under 1 ton that are over this length will pay an additional 3.65 per ft. over 18 feet long, but the total not to exceed the one ton truck rate. The overall length of the vehicle will include any rack or any trailer that extends beyond a standard car length.

Driver is included in vehicle fare. Additional Passengers that are not reserved are paid for upon arrival.

Booking Online:

If your vehicle is under 1 ton and over 18 ft., you will be defaulted to a 20 ft. truck fee. If your truck is under or over 20 ft. and you would like to pay the exact fee, please call the office at 401.683.0430 during phone hours, or upon arrival your vehicle may be measured and your fee adjusted.

2000 to 2016 vehicles have been updated to the correct length and fee. We are in the process of updating vehicles 1999 and older. Please call the office if your vehicle is 1999 or older to pay the accurate price. Thank you for your patience. 

Pets:

Pets are allowed in approved pet carriers or on leashes only.

Prudence and Bay Islands Transport is not responsible for damage to vehicles while moving on or off the vessels, damage to freight being shipped or stored at either terminal, or any vehicles parked at the Prudence or Bristol terminal or contents left in these vehicles
